JUST KIDS in Action: THE TRUTH ABOUT OUR YOUTH PREMIERES IN BALTIMORE COUNTY TOMORROW

THIS WEEK IN ANNAPOLIS

THIS WEEK IN ANNAPOLIS:

Our Bill is Moving!

SB515/HB1295 was amended to allow any youth that was previously charged as an adult and had their case transferred to the juvenile system the ability to request a transfer hearing to move their current adult case to the juvenile system if they are arrested again.

(The current law does not allow any youth charged as adults with previous adult charges the opportunity to request a transfer hearing.)

While Just Kids wants ALL youth charged as adults to have a transfer hearing, this success chips away at the limitations on transfer hearings.
HB1295 was amended and passed out of the Senate Judaical Proceedings Committee and will be heard TOMORROW on the Senate floor!   SB 515, the cross-file of HB1295 has a hearing in the Judiciary committee TOMORROW 4/2 at 1:00pm
