Eighth Grader Charged As Adult In Hunter’s Point Muni Shelter Murder
A 14-year-old suspect has been charged as an adult in the murder of 19-year-old Jaquan Rice, who was shot and killed at a Muni stop in Hunter’s Point last month. The juvenile suspect and his alleged accomplice, 20-year-old Derrick Hunter, have both been charged with multiple felonies including murder, attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and dissuading a witness.
According to police reports, the two suspects exited a vehicle at the intersection of West Point and Middle Point Roads around 1 p.m. on the afternoon of June 24th. The pair allegedly walked over to the Muni shelter and shot Rice along with his 17-year-old girlfriend. Rice died from his injuries, but the girlfriend was taken to S.F. General and treated.
